I really now looked at the Oregon 550.

The problem is, in amazon(germany) user reports the same problem with my 8 years old simple garmin still exists in the Oregon 550:

From time to time, the Garmin switches off without reason, perhaps because of bad battery contacts, perhaps because of a software reason, no one knows why.

Thats not good if you record a track and you repeatedly find the garmin switched off without reason.
