What do you take in a long trip?

I am going in a three months trip in Indochina, plus Nepal. I want to travel light.
two cameras: Sigma DP1 and DP2s plus accessories and a mini tripod
Now, the problem I have is with the storage. I am shooting RAW. I have 5 memory cards, each 4GB. They are enough for one month.
What choices I have? Buy another 10 memory cards (fast writing are expensive)?
Or I can buy a Hyperdrive 160GB portable hard drive ($350) and store the files from the cards here, hoping the drive will be OK.
I don't want to take a notebook with me. The cards, the drive and the notebook - all are about the same price.
What's the best solution? What worked for you in your trips and what didn't?
Thank you.
