I know the shutter is rated at 100,000 actuations and it costs $200 to have it replaced. I have some T & I scheduled for the local football leagues and I'd hate to have this go down during a shoot. I have a 40D as a backup with 73,000 shots and a 20D that has had its shutter already replaced. Does it sound crazy if I have the shutter and shutter button replaced in advance even though its still working fine? I'm debating the purchase of a 7D as well. I shoot a lot of action photogaphy and I've tested it two times through Canon's Professional Services. I'd rather wait until next Spring to buy the 7D though. Anyone out there got more than 135,440 actuations on their original 50D shutter? Have any of you already had yours replaced and have any ideas how many actuations you had?
