What cheap DSLR body as low light add on?
Aug 16, 2010

I do not want to go the DSLR road completely. But a anniversary wedding party the other day with its typical indoor low light very soon made me give up even with my fastest lenses (1,2 and 1,4), a monopod and a G1 body with a 800 ISO look that already shows a lot of noise.

What (comparable) cheap APS-C body could I use in those low light situations without a flash probably with a 50/1.4 or a 85/1.4 lens attached? Nikon and Pentax are my first thoughts as the lens mount did not change from the old manual lenses to modern AF lenses. A Nikon D200 as the cheapest body with sufficient metering? A Pentax K-x as the low light champion outside the Canon world?
