OM Zuiko 1.8/50mm - mostly wide open
Aug 14, 2010

Hi folks,

this evening, I went for a walk with the Olympus OM Zuiko 1.8/50mm, and after one first shot at f=5.6 I decided to use it wide open only. After all, the purpose of getting an f=1.8 lens is to use it wide open, right?

In I read that from f=5.6 this lens compares quite favourably to the ZD 2/50mm, but that it doesn't stand a chance at wider apertures. So before reaching in my pocket, I wanted to see it myself again, and I'm afraid that they're right.

Some photos will be in the first reply to this.

using free and open source software,
and an open camera system (Olympus 4/3rds)
