Should Olympus become a body-only manufacturer?

Somebody should do it. Essentially do for full frame what m4/3 is doing, so far as lens adapters. In fact, why not go for an even shorter flange-back distance than 4/3 -- they would have to in order to use Canon lenses. Design the camera as flat as possible to take m4/3, C-mount and the rest.

As others have pointed out, there is money in lenses and lenses have been been the strength at Olympus. Maybe it makes more sense for Olympus to do the lenses and partner with an electronics company (Panasonic? Samsung?) for the body.

I would not be surprised to see something like this -- either FF or medium format -- in the next couple of years, but I do not expect it to come from a traditional camera company. OTOH, there are interesting rumors floating around about Nikon and MF.
