Why no auto/p for video on S90

Or on any other compact, for that matter.
Just like still shots mode has a full auto mode which is totally dummy proof,
I really wish there was the same for video.

On numerous occasions my wife takes video clips of the kids with a color swap, or a wrong white balance.

Color swap is due to the rear control ring, and white balance just stays as it was set the last shoot.
A 'green' video mode would prevent any of these cases from happening.

(no flaming for nitpicking, please. I love the S90 otherwise. This here is a general issue).
