5DMkII mirror strikes/hangs

So,
A mirror strike occurs when the mirror is raised, and strikes the lens mount?
And,
A mirror hang occurs when the mirror is released, and hangs on top of the mount?
On my 5DMkII and the Contax 35-70f3.4 lens I definitely end up w/ mirror hangs.
But, how do I know it isn't striking also?
I guess it is also striking? I'm uncertain...
I have been toying with the idea of ordering a new mirror, and having it shaved.
Then replace the existing mirror w/ the shaved one.
Of course, this will mean the camera has to go to a shop that performs this type of work.
Anyone had this performed?
Or can recommend a shop for this type of work?
