"Made in China" Nikkor 105mm Macro - Should I return?

Bought Nikon 105mm Micro lens today, surprised to find my copy is made in China. I tried out this lens at several difference stores and all copies are made in Japan.

Has anyone bought a copy of this lens recently that is made in Japan or Thailand? All my other lenses are made in Japan except the 50mm/1.8, surprised a pro macro lens close to 1k is now from China. I haven't opened the case yet, wondering if I should return it and get the $500 Tamron instead. I'm not so worried about the optical performance, but I do think lens workmanship is inferior where it is made in China, just don't want to spend close to 1k and regret it later.

People with this lens made in China, pls share your thoughts on this. Keep or return?
