The DPI is just a Meta Data tag in the file telling the software reading it what DPI to DEFAULT to.

If you shoot RAW, DPP allows you to choose DPI when saving it to JPG.

Like others said you can probably change the TAG in the JPG with many tools.

And a good printer should allow you to override the DPI Tag.

If you changed th F stop Meta Data TAG in the file will that change the image? No.

It's not adding or removing pixels.
