Good news for beginners looking for a new camera

The vast majority of questions on the beginners forum are about seeking advice to buy a camera. The good news is that your camera choice (especially at the point-and-shoot level) is not a big deal. If you haven't already seen it, check out this thread/video of a photoshoot with an iphone.

I'm not saying that just because your camera-to-be is better than an iphone, that you can pull off these shots. My point is that technique and lighting (including lighting equipment) have a greater effect on image quality than the camera itself.
Hope this reduces the anxiety with choosing the "right" camera. Meanwhile, drop by the lighting forum
Best regards,
Michael
