Blue Sky under harsh sun conditions

Hi All
About to leave on a trip around Greece for a 3 weeks period and will be taking photos mid day under harsh sun conditions.
Do you recommend any filters to go on my 5D2 camera?
I already have UV filter on my 24-105L lens...do you recommend polarizing filters ?
If yes what make and model,
many thanks.....your help is always appriciated
