Switch from IBM to MAC

I've been using IBM PC and Laptop for years and thinking about getting a MAC just for my photography work and also carry with me on my backpack during my shooting. Can I switch my Lightroom sofware over to the Mac.

Any suggestions on the MAC and advises for me before I go to the store?
