Which lens serves as a better portrait lens on a FF??

Hi guys...

currently am using a 50mm f1.4 to shoot my baby boy....

am thinking of getting the 100mm f2.8 L macro to dual purpose and letting go my 50mm... do you think its a wise choice to use the 100mm f2.8 L as a baby portrait lens?... currently i am pretty satisfied with the 50mm but pocket does'nt allow me to hold on to both...
