Question for 24PCE users

I just got a new 24PCE, but have not had time to take any photos. I did notice one thing that I would like to inquire about - hopefully to calm my fears. I have noticed that the shifting in one direction is tighter than in the other. It is no so tight that I can't turn the knob, but it is noticeably different. I should note that I am not usually picky and go looking for defects. I am curious if perhaps this is typical. I guess all that matters are the images.
