Which nikon cámera has the best dynamic range?

I´m considering upgrading from D5000 to D700 to get even better dynamic range, but i´m quite surprised hearing that the nikon d3x has better DR than any other nikon.

I thought the one with the best DR would be the D3s. Otherwise why would people buy that camera instead the Sony A900, or A850 which can not have a worst sensor than D3X, as this is sony manufactured.

Hopefully i did explain myself because i suffer dislexia.
