Calling all ultra wide angle users...

Can you comment on how frequently you call upon your ultra wide angle? For ease of understanding, give me a ballpark percentage. Feel free to show some pictures, if you want, to make your point. Also how precious do you think an extra 2mm is at the wide end?
I am planning to buy one of the following lenses for my D90. I am counting on your answers to help me decide. Thank you in advance.
1. Sigma 10-20mm
2. Sigma 8-16mm
