ok, Smugmug... or what?

I'd like to build a website - nothing too fancy, you know. A bit above Flickr.

Smugmug looks almost perfect: unlimited storage, password-protected galleries, apparently easy-to-build and simple pre-made themes to start with.

BUT: they ask 60$ if you want to be able to use your own domain name. A feature I would definitely love.
Too much for a non-pro, I'm afraid

Alternatives?
