Is my D3 shutter toast ?

Was at a BTCC event today in the UK and after shooting around 270 frames I get an err message in the viewfinder and on the top LCD, the camera will still fire, images go to CF but they are badly overexposed.

At the time I had 200-400 VR + 1.4TC attached, tried without the TC also tried a 28-200, also removed the battery, I think the shutter is fragged. Frame count when problem happened . . 32,132 not quite the 300k life expected.

Anyone had a similar experience ? And is the warranty 2 years in the UK ?

D2X tomorrow . . . that will be a little strange but I'm sure I'll cope.
