Re: Need 1/1000 Sec Flash Duration
In reply to manny_d, Jun 5, 2010

That is the "hack" I am using, however, when I try it, it does not work with flashes that have such a, short flash duration.

My present studio flashes have similar flash durations to what you listed. The result of using them shows light fall off on one side of the shot, because the "flash duration" is not lasting long enough.

When I use the Vivitar 285hv (I have 5 of these flashes) with it long flash duration of 1/1000 secs at full power, I do not get the light fall off.

The 2 problems I have with the Vivitars are:

1) I need more power (I can use more than one of them to get that)

2) I need faster recharge time (At fill power, the Vivitars take between 6 &10 secs to recharge)

I appreciate you all taking the time for your answers. Thanks.
