Printer Profiles - Where!?

Could someone help me with a very basic question please.
I'm running Snow Leopard and have an Epson R2880 printer. I've downloaded some hahnemeuhle profiles but can't get the printer to pick them up in the profiles choice window!
I've tried putting them in Library/Colorsync/profiles but no joy - any suggestions!?
The 'starting' software is Ap 3 although that surely doesn't make any difference - never has in the past?
