Mixing DSLR Video with MiniDV audio

I'm sure this has been covered before, but does anyone know how much of a headache it would be to edit video off a 5d (or T2i) combined with audio off an XL2? If I'm not mistaken, the XL2 records 24p, 30p, or 60i, but it's all still kinda at 59.97. Is this not worth the effort? I'm trying to make the most of my XL2's XLR inputs.
