white balance

I posted this about a week ago and made some adjustments. I have a Lastolite gray target. I filled the frame with it and set me custom white balance in my camera (Canon 5D Mark2). Here are samples of my results. What am I doing wrong? Other people say it works great. I'm having the model hold the card in front of her face when I take the pic to use for white balance. The first image is with the Lastolite and the second is after I color corrected it in Canon DPP software. Is the X-rite a better idea or probably same results??
