100-400 MM in the Tropics

I have the option of a 100-400 mm or the 300 mm f4 +1.4 TC on a 7D for a birding trip to Costa Rica next week. The zoom will maximize opportunities but I'm concerned about it's lack of weather sealing given the humidity and rain? I will have a macro and a wide angle lens along, and have a Storm Coat for the 100-400. What do you think?
