It isn't easy, judging. I have no problem picking favorites from among my own pics, but this is a little different with so many different styles and subjects.

Kind of in the same boat as the honorable mention, with a D200, but hey, great grab, in the spirit of the challenge, I would guess this was one of many attempts to get it just right.

TIE for First Runner-up - Strem and slutskaya - I am a firm sucker for live music shots.

Great capture, conveying motion and showing power in her voice.

Wisdom, heart. Love it. Technically perfect, nah, but it is a great image...

What can you say? In the moment, well processed. But alas, D700, and I know it isn't in the rules, but I wanted to keep the spirit of the forum's ownership of the challenge. Let's not yell about it. Great pic!

Like live music, street photography is something I enjoy; walking, discovering, feeling like you are the first to see something. I get that feeling from this image. Well composed and presented, the scream falling on an apathetic deaf ear.
