My Dream Canon

On the off chance that someone from Canon trolls these boards for ideas ...
I've been having a lot of fun using my Canon G11. However, there's a limit to how much you can enlarge the results of that 1/1.7" sensor. I'm thinking about long trail and extended period hikes when carrying a load of photo gear has to take a back seat to basic survival essentials, like food, clothing, etc.
So here's my dream camera for those situations. How about an APS-C model, sans the pentaprism (just rely on the the big pivoting LCD screen like the one on the G11), and with a built-in 16-85 f/4 collapsible lens. It wouldn't be tiny or extremely lightweight, but it would be more compact than even a D-Rebel with an interchangeable 16-85 lens.
What do you think?
