Purchasing soft boxes with speed rings that adapt to the flash unit are better. They mount to the light stand, holding the soft box on one side and the flash on the other side. The are closer to the center of gravity and they also do not put much added weight on the neck of the flash itself. Chimera uis another company who makes good soft boxes and excellent speedrings.
