New MBP an iPhoto

Just picked up my first Mac, the new 13 inch with 4 meg.

It is primarily a work computer but I was playing around with iPhoto and came across a strange behavior: When I zoom in and then try to move the picture around, it goes into super slow mode - the image just creeps along. All other imaging adjustments seem to work fine, its only when I zoom do I have this problem.

Is this normal? I understand that it uses some of the same engine/code as aperture. Is this the performance issue folks have been talking about?
