Sony Firmware Update, is it even still possible ?

Every brand are coming with firmware update, even for older models like the recent Pentax updates for All there camera's, thats why the question come up, is it still possible to even hope for any Sony firmware update for any model at all ??

Maybe the Sony software support departement has been dismantled, so far Sony has not prove the opposite, on the contrary, one only can believe at this Moment that all Sony gear is left onsupported after sale !! that's not a good sign, is it ?? does that make you confident in the Sony marketing??
