Who can explain this?

I bought a used 85MM 1.8 lens on Ebay about a year ago as my first lens purchase. Initially I was thrilled with the sharpness and bokeh of the lens and thought I had a good copy. However over time as I became more experienced with my D90 and taking photos I began to see some strange light reflections with this lens.

I have attached three pictures which I took at a wedding as examples. After I saw these results I had to immediately switch back to my kit lens. Can anyone shed some light on what this is? Is this something I am doing or does my lens need to be repaired? I've since bought a 80-200 VR1 and a 35MM 1.8 on ebay and had no problems of this sort with either lens, both of which I love.
