A wedding with primes only?
Apr 20, 2010

Just curious, have some of you shot weddings with only primes (3 or 4) with 2 bodies?

A lot of photographers agree that primes = more thinking about composition and often better pictures. Other advantages would be very fast glass for low light, more lightweight and better IQ.

As a wedding photographer, I know that zoom versatility is very welcome. But imagine if you use only the best fast primes available to make a LOT of thin DOF pictures for a dreamy look of an entire wedding (except the reception and large group shots)...

Example for Nikon users:

2 X FF bodies
24 or 28 1.4
50 1.4 (the sigma for better bokeh)
85 1.4
135 DC

Opinions or personnal experience?
Thank you.
