Has No Company Picked Up on Manual Focus Aides?
Apr 18, 2010

I am thinking seriously of purchasing the cheaper EP-1 and then getting around the slow focus speed by manually focusing. I am curious to hear from people who have thought about it why the companies have not picked up on the manual focus aide often used in film cameras...the circles that are brought into sync in the center of the frame or the OOF circle in the middle of the frame that focuses to match it's surrounding frame as one focuses. Without these aides, it is nearly impossible iwthout a lot of hit or miss practice to know whether or not a manually focused shot is in focus or out? NO? HELP!!! I know that these were sold as add-ons for Canon viewfinders a few years ago (I had one an loved it) but why aren't they added to lenses from the beginning? Does any company produce such a focusing aide or am I dreaming?
