Very easy question, if you ask me.
Buy the 550D body only. Sell your 350D.
The 550D with your 2.8 zoom lens is a fantastic low light combination.

Hi. I own the 350D which I mostly use with the 17-55 2.8 IS. This works well outdoors and when travelling, but I find myself limited in low light when I err (wrongly I know) on the side of slow shutter instead of going higher than ISO 400. I have many nice shots which are just slightly blurred. I have a decent tripod and flash but often want to take family/social shots where I'm not set up to use these.

So I'm considering upgrading to either the 550D or getting an expensive, fast prime between 28 and 35 mm. Does anyone have thoughts on which of these are likely to give me better low light performance? I know there are added benefits to upgrading my body, but it still works quite well for my needs and I certainly won't use the video.

Much appreciated.
