Gold Award = Best bang for your buck
In reply to Flying Fish, Apr 5, 2010

The way I see it is...77% is a relative measure among ALL DSLRs. The Gold Award is recognition of value to the consumer at a certain price.

In other words, if a $10K professional DSLR is rated 100%, and the T2i is rated 77%, then it makes sense to say that T2i is 3/4 the camera that the $10K camera is. It will have 3/4 of the image quality, 3/4 of the features, etc.

However, if I have $800 bucks to spend on a DSLR, then the Gold Award tells me it's the best bang for the buck.
