experience with remote control on D90?

Hi,
Is there anybody who has experience with the infrared remote control ML-L3?
Does it work on the D90? What are the advantages or disadvantages between the remote control ML-L3 and the MC DC2 remote with cable?
They are priced almost the same in the Netherlands.
