D300S why not always use 51 points 3D tracking in AF-C ?
Apr 3, 2010

Hi everybody,

I just bought my D300S a week ago, upgrading from a D70. I have read my user's manual and done a few searches on the internet, buy one question remains.

When I use Continuous Autofocus (AF-C) what are the advantages of not using the 51 points 3D tracking ? Why shoud I use the 21 points, 9 points or single point ?

I suppose that there most be situations where these mode are preferabales or else they would probably not exists ?

From one of the searches I have made, one sentence I read seemed to suggest taht 9 points would be faster. (Then I suppose 21 points would be faster thatn 51 points ?).

Thank you in advance for your feedbak!
