Beauty Dish Result critique?
Apr 2, 2010
|
So I saw online recently some people built their own beauty dish, and I was like... I can build that. My question is for those that have used one.
The dish is set up about 3-1/2 feet away and about 1-1/2 feet about my head. I was testing to see how much light I lost and the general effect. My canon 430 was set at 1/1 manual and wide angle (24mm) (My thought being it might spread out and bounce better, I'll have to experiment more to see if that actually matters). Attached are some shots taken with and with out the reflector. For those that have used a dish is this working somewhat? I see a difference in the light for sure, but does it seem similar to a real Beauty dish? I know the silver is over exposed, but I'm more concerned about the how the light is working in these tests.
No dish...
with white primed dish...
second night, no dish...
with final silver paint on dish...
Thanks for any input.
