7D : non-OEM battery question

7D OEM battery has chip that transmits battery level info, no of shots and exact %ge of charge remaining while viewed through Battery Info.
The non-OEM third party batteries will lack this capability for obvious reasons.
However I wanted to know if the third party battery will at least show the standard battery indicator on the top LCD panel, or that will also be blank.
Kindly share this info if you are using the third party battery.
