Imac 27" Core i7 ... *thumbs up*
Just received my refurbished Core i7 27 IMac. I spent the saved money on Apple Care warranty and an extra 4 GB memory. Computer looked brand new in the box except it was just a cardboard box with no Apple logo on it
I'm a pro PC guy, so quite frankly I don't care about the Mac vs Windows debate. I installed Win 7 on it, so now I can run either Mac or PC software which is what suits me best.
Multitasking is excellent, I ran Lightroom, exported an IMovie Clip, while I unzipped a large rar file, while I played two 720P movies, and also while I was toying around with CS4 filters. No slowdowns whatsoever. This is certainly a super fine machine for amateur photography/movie maker (I guess pros would need a matte screen).
It's nice that I can finally shop for a work desk/table without worrying about the computer case itself, cooling issues if it's behind a cabinet door, or even noise issues due to case fans (the IMac is extremely quiet). I'll trade the lack of "upgradeability" for that any day.
Almost went the 4K Mac Pro route ... so glad I didn't. This is fast enough, and I'd rather spend the 2K I saved on mygrading my D700 to the next model
