Sell 18-55 & 35mm 1.8 for an 18-105?

I've had my D40 for a little over a year and bought a 35mm 1.8 about three months ago. Despite my best efforts, I just don't feel like I'm getting much out of the 1.8. It's a good lens, and I'm sure most of my disappointment boils down to my inexperience, but I find it difficult to use as a walkabout lens.

I'm thinking of selling my 18-55 EDII and the 1.8 for an 18-105 VR. I'm finding I have to use flash for many of my indoor shots anyway, so I don't know if I'll miss that big aperture. I do miss zoom and don't like changing lenses often.

Any thoughts? Should I jump on this or have a bit more patience? (BTW - my current budget doesn't allow for spending more than I'd receive from selling my two current lenses)
