5D focus point indicator light issue

The lower right three of 5D (Mk1) red indicator lights do not light up completely. It looks kinda like they've been shaved at the bottom and on one side.
I've found 2 links possibly about this:

But the issue seems unresolved apart from "I never attempted to clean it [the SI plate], but i guess if thats the problem, replacing the SI plate should fix it, right?"

I just bought this 5D second hand so wondering if anyone can tell me if it's a major issue.
