5D Mark II Why Video ?

If I wanted a video camera I would buy one. Personally as far as I am concerned video should not be in an SLR. Canon is spending too much time and effort on video capabilities on the 5D Mark II. They should concentrate their efforts on improving SLR digital photo features and functionality. Proof is their recent release of firmware 2.03 which only applies to video. What about all the still photographers out there that are looking for improvements on the 5D Mark II. Many improvements and features were placed in the 7D. Why not the 5D Mark II ? As an owner of the 5D Mark II I feel I have been short changed by Canon.

To be honest I never use the video function on the camera , but I do use the live view feature but for stills only.
