Canon HD video in Adobe editing programs

Im going to do some 5D video tomorrow for the first time proper. Everything ive read about editing video relates to Adobe Premiere CS4 but can premiere elements edit the video too?

Are there any fundamental differences, im only after simple editing really, nothing too fancy.

Any other recommended programs (windows only though!)?
