Using AA Batteries with 7D Grip (Canon's Response)

In a previous thread, it was debated as to whether using 6 AA batteries in an optional grip would result in a lowering the frames per second in high speed mode.

I have a third-party Meike grip (from Adorama) and my frames per second are about 2 fps when using the grip and AA batteries -- extremely slow. High speed shooting is fine with a single OEM battery installed.

I can only assume my grip is defective based on Canon's response received today.

You can use two LP-E6 or six AA batteries in the grip. Neither will slow down the fps when using Continuous Shooting.
