Fuji S5 vs Leica M9
Hi there OM. I am more interested in exploring the fact that both Fuji users and Leica users say that images from their cameras have a distinctive "look". What is this "look" that they have that makes them unique and what distinguishes the Fuji look from the Leica look? As you say, the camera's are different when it comes to cost, technology, etc though I am not sure I agree with you about application, surely all pro camera systems can be used equally well in all situations?
All digital cameras have a distinctive look. Different models from the same camera maker even have their own distinctive look. These distinctions are usually subtle, but in some cases they can be dramatic, ie the "look" of the Fuji S5 files compared to the Leica M9. The problem is, you're asking about something that cannot be accurately described in words alone. The best thing for you to do is download sample images from the cameras you want to compare and compare them for yourself on your own computer. You might also want to read the comments and reviews of the Leica M8 and M9 at http://www.luminous-landscape.com . These reviews do describe the qualities of the Leica digital images quite well and with good detail.
