make mine, a G, a 24mm-76mm equivalent... please!!!

so... a PowerShot G12-IS (f1.8: 24-76)[sounds like Samsung's EX1...! but with a LARGER SENSOR!!!]

. . . A 24-76 f/1.8 lens on a 16x12 sensor would be quite large and heavy. > Last i checked even APS sensor sized dcam Epson RD1x is barely larger than micro-4/3rds body (or a PowerShot G)

Did you read the line you are replying to? It is easy to put an APS-C sized sensor in a small body (those sensors are only about 24mm wide, 16mm high) but Tim's comment was about the size of the fast zoom lenses that you are dreaming of.

For the same telephoto range and minimum f-stop, APS-C lenses need over twice the volume of glass in the lens elements compared to 4/3.

Smaller lenses, better in low light, more telephoto reach:
you can have any two at one time.
