It is my impression that sales of the DA17-70mm F4 have been quite slow. It seem it is having a hard time struggling against the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5. Although the Pentax has better corner sharpness and is faster on the tele-end, the Sigma is much faster at the short end, has better macro capability and is much, much cheaper.

If Pentax was to update the design to make it a 16-70mm F4 WR and keep pricing the same, would the 16mm wide angle and WR be enough to make you buy it?
