Nikon 20mm f/2.8 or Nikon 24mm f/2.8

Hi, so I recently made the jump and got a D700 on order. I was shooting with a D300 along with a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens. I sold both in order to fund the D700. Now the remaining lenses I have are:

Nikon 35-70mm AF-D f/2.8
Nikon 50mm AF-D f/1.4
Nikon 70-200mm VRI f/2.8

I'm looking for something wider than the 35-70mm and was looking at the 2 Nikon primes, the 20mm f/2.8 and 24mm f/2.8. I see them both used on craigslist for about $275 to $400 respectively and was wondering on the opinions about both lenses.

I want the prime in this range cause it's light with the D700 setup and the 24-70mm is just to expensive. So the 20mm or 24mm prime seems like it can fit the bill. My concern with the 20mm is that it might be a little too wide and have slight distortion. The 24mm is about $100 cheaper and seems to me at a nice focal length.

I'm tossed up b/t the two and could use your opinions. I'm also open to suggestion on other primes in this range as well. The new Nikon 24mm f/1.4 would be ideal, but that just out of my price range
