Nikon D3s Noise free 102,800 ISO image ...

This is a quick experiment I have done this morning with a D3s and a Nikon 70-200 VR II at 102,800 ISO to see how I could denoise the image thru a technique called image stacking.

3 images only were used shooting handheld at a non interesting scene (I would agree) but with absolute stunning result for 102,800 ISO.

The shots were taken in jpg in med size and normal compression. I am sure I could have done better with RAW thru NX2 conversion.

I am sure a lot of NR software coud have done good on that resized image but the behaving of stacking is amazing.

The original image has so much noise (obviously from the 102,800) that it was almost unusable ... Here it is ...

NOTE: I have not taken time to even adjust WB and fine tune exposure. No other noise reduction was applied and camera NR was at off.

I like what I am seeing ...
