70-200 2.8VRI + D700 = no good

I have tried two samples of 70-200 2.8VR I and two D700 - same problem. At 150-200mm outer AF points is not reliable at all, but central AF points work great... but GG...I need other AF points for weddings :/
So I will sell VRI and get new VR2

My question: is 70-200 2.8VR II have better accuracy with outer AF points at 200mm? (like my 24-70 - great lens)

only one or two good shots from five shots...no good :/
